Although two days may seem short, there are many activities you can do on a weekend getaway to Jávea, here are some suggestions.

Discovering the beaches of Jávea

Going to Jávea doesn’t make any sense if you don’t visit its beaches. They are perfect for disconnecting and relaxing, enjoying the sun and the crystal clear waters. They are also ideal for water sports or to eat in some restaurants overlooking the sea.

One of the most attractive is Cala Granadella, with its almost wild aspect, another is Cala Sardinera, which you will reach after crossing a leafy pine forest.

Old Town

The historic centre of Jávea is located in the interior of the town, which is logical, as it was customary when building houses to protect them from pirate attacks. You will find the walled enclosure, cobbled streets, houses and small palaces from another time and other places of great interest.

There are several buildings in the area that are certainly worth a visit, such as the Church of San Bartolomé, the Historical and Ethnological Museum and the Municipal Food Market.

Route of the Viewpoints

Another option for your weekend is to follow the route of the viewpoints. Over a distance of 25 km you will see up to 15 viewpoints, from which you can see the landscape, including hidden coves, wild coves and spectacular cliffs. The route is very well signposted and you are given information about the area. Of course, you can do the whole route or just part of it.

Visit the Faro de la Nao lighthouse

You’ll love the Faro de la Nao lighthouse, from where you can see the entire bay of Jávea, its cliffs and coves. On some very bright days you can even see the island of Ibiza.

In addition to visiting the lighthouse, you can finish the day at the restaurant you’ll find in the area. It is easy to get to the lighthouse by car and there is a car park.

Kayak Excursion

In Jávea you will find many companies that offer kayak excursions. You can go along the cliffs or visit some of the caves, it is a great option for a day full of adventures..

Getting to know the Montgó Natural Park

If you like being in contact with nature, one of the best options you can enjoy in Jávea is to visit the Montgó Natural Park. It is a mountain located at an altitude of 750 metres above sea level. There are different routes to do in the area, it is important that you choose times when the heat is not too intense and that you are well equipped to do the route.

Visiting the Mills of Jávea

The windmills of Jávea, which date back to the 14th century, are located on the San Antonio cape, between Denia and Jávea. Its location is no coincidence, as it was chosen to take advantage of the easterly wind that blows in this area.

Water sports

If you love water sports, Jávea is the perfect destination to enjoy some of them. In the areas near both the cape of San Martín and the cape of San Antonio you can go snorkelling or even scuba diving.

You will enjoy a sea bed with different aquatic species and also its waters, which are usually very calm. You will find different companies that offer this kind of activities.

Catamaran Tour

You can take a catamaran trip to get to know the area better. It is an ideal option for sunny days, during the trip you can also enjoy a meal on deck, you will love this plan.

Bicycle routes

Bike lovers are in luck because Jávea is the perfect place to practice this sport. Moreover, it is ideal to do it with your family, as a couple, with friends or alone. The landscapes are truly spectacular and you will be able to discover some of the best spots in this town.

Cova Tallada

Next to Denia you will find another place that you cannot miss on your visit to Jávea, we are referring to the Cova Tallada. This is a large cave located at the foot of Cabo de San Antonio.

There are several ways to get to this cave, but it is very important that you go well prepared, take a torch and of course your swimming costume. Planning a weekend getaway to Jávea is a plan that is guaranteed to be a success, especially if you choose to visit some of the places you have seen throughout this article, it will be a truly unforgettable two days.
