The Don Pancho Group joins the Caixa bank’s solidarity initiative “El Árbol de los Sueños”

All of us in the Don Pancho Group – Hotel Don Pancho, Camping Villamar and Camping Villasol – are very happy to be able to participate in this incredible and supportive initiative of Caixa Bank “El Árbol de los Sueños” (The Tree of Dreams) so that this Christmas no child in the country goes without a gift.

The objective is to ensure that 25,000 children in vulnerable situations can have the gift they desire this Christmas. And even more so this year, when the crisis of the covid-19 has worsened child poverty, because magic exists, especially at Christmas!

For this purpose, the children benefiting from the initiative have written a letter asking for the gifts they would like to receive this year. Our employees, from Hotel Don Pancho, Camping Villasol and Camping Villamar requested their letters in order to make the corresponding gift. All these gifts have already been delivered to La Caixa so that they reach all the children on time.

Thousands of people mobilized

It is estimated that the 2020 edition, the fourth in the history of this initiative, will mobilise thousands of people, including collaborating entities, social workers, volunteers, employees and clients of the financial entity, to make a reality the wishes of the 25,000 letters received. Among the collaborating organisations are the Red Cross, Cáritas, Secretariado Gitano and Save the Children, as well as the social services of numerous municipalities and small local entities, many of which have joined the CaixaProinfancia programme from Fundación ‘la Caixa’.

The record-breaking scope of this new edition is set in the context of the current crisis caused by the covid-19 pandemic. The poverty of vulnerable families and children has worsened and is also spreading to other families who, until now, have not been deprived.

These types of actions are part of the social responsibility policy of the Don Pancho Group, always committed to business policies, activities and practices aimed at defending and promoting human rights and the environment.
