Did you know you can drive a jet ski in Benidorm? Jet-skiing is not the best-known water sport, but it’s a really original and fun beach activity.
At the moment, we’ll just tell you that it’s a form of waterskiing to be practiced in very few places. It needs a very special infrastructure, but Benidorm is one of those places where you can jet-ski.
If you would like to find out what this water activity is, don’t miss this post! We’ll tell you everything about it!
While water-skiing is a sport in which you’re pulled along the surface of the water by a boat, jet-skiing is a kind of waterskiing where a motor power tows you. The water-skier, within a closed circuit, uses cables as guides.
Although both water sports are very similar, drive a jet ski has got additional advantages. To start with, as several water-skiers can be into the same circuit, there is more respect for the environment. On the other hand, for doing water-skiing you’d need a boat only for you, which results in a greater use of resources while taking also a larger space.
This jet ski circuit in Benidorm was opened in 1966 by Humberto Armas, who found in the city just what his project needed. That’s to say: an extraordinary warm weather all year long and calm, crystal-clear water. Nowadays, this sea racetrack circuit is the largest in Spain. Over 1.000m2 where fun is assured. It counts with the necessary security and tecnology systems so that up to 12 people can do jet skiing at a time.
Moreover, while jet-skiing, you’ll enjoy the amazing views of the Benidorm’s skyline, which is one of the largest in the Mediterranean! And, if you are still in doubt, we recommend you go for a walk along the Levante Beach. You’ll get astonished by the acrobatics of water-skiers you’ll find there!
If this is going to be the first time you do jet ski in Benidorm, don’t worry about that since you’ll also be offered both workshops and private lessons. Plus, they will provide you with all the equipment you need to have fun safely such as helmets, vests and skis. Besides, there is boat which will pick you up in case you fall far from the platform.
On the other hand, if it’s not the first time you do this fun aquatic activity, you’ll also be able to book daily or season tickets. The price will depend on the time or the rides you choose, but ranges between €21 and €50.
If you are new to this water sport, or if this is the first time you practice jet ski in Benidorm, our advice is to start with the two-ski choice or try the kneeboard. The first option is the original one. That’s to say, with which this entertaining water sport was born. You’ll ski on the water at about 30km/h speed. In fact, it’s like skiing on snow. However, by kneeboarding up to two people are allowed to go at the same; the only thing is that you will have to go on your knees. It’s a very original form of surfing. And, if you try with your children, partner or friends, we’re sure you’ll love it!
If you don’t have a beginner’s level, are a skater or prefer to try something completely different, we recommend wakeskating. It’s practiced on a board that is very similar to the one used for skateboarding or snowboarding. The only difference is that the water-skier is not held by the feet. They only use a kind of grip to secure the support with the shoes.
Are you already an expert? If so, then wakeboarding and monoskiing will be your favorite new water sports. And, both of them can be practice while you are being towed by a jet ski in Benidorm. Wakeboarding is very similar to snowboarding, with the difference that the surface changes. Skiing on the sea isn’t the same as skiing on the snow, is it? Moreover, monoskiing, although more eye-catching, is only for experts as the body lies on the water to reach a 58 km/h speed.
In this respect, if you’re looking for a different and fun water sport, you’ll love any of the above! Furthermore, Benidorm is one of the few European cities where you’ll be able to put it into practice. So, if you visit us, don’t miss the chance to practice it, you’ll have a great time!
