No visible remains of the castle, which once served as a watchtower offering protection, still stand today. In its place, however, a park has been constructed. Take a walk through it a revel in the views of the Mediterranean Sea.
This building was constructed in 1925 and, despite suffering damage during the Civil War, today it is perfectly conserved thanks to the contributions made by the locals. It makes for a very agreeable evening walk with the family, your other half or your friends during which you can enjoy the colourful sunset and adjoining gardens.
This fountain with fifteen spouts can be found in the suburbs. Serving as a starting point for hiking trails to the mountains, it’s one of the most popular places in the area for visitors to take photos before commencing the climb to Puig Campana.

The town is the starting point of a trail that forks off into several other routes further on and which leads to the peak of Puig Campana. This mountain is unique in Spain. It is the highest peak close to the coast. In less than eight kilometres you can go from being at the beach to standing more than 1400 metres above sea level. The views of the Spanish Mediterranean on a clear day are spectacular. You can use at least two trails to climb this mountain, one of which is longer while the other is shorter but more challenging.
While climbing this peak you will see abundant Mediterranean flora and fauna. If you enjoy nature and photography, you’ll love being able to spot and capture on film some of the many species found in the area.
This shopping centre is like no other. The dining area imitates the facades of Finestrat, giving the impression that you are in a colourful, well-looked after street with sea views. You can choose to have lunch in a large chain restaurant or opt for local dining options serving rice dishes or fish. You can finish off with a movie at the cinema or some bowling with your loved ones.
Finestrat has it all. It’s home to mountains, spectacular views, enviable weather, good food and even the beach. The region has 300 metres of coastline in a cove with fine sand, restaurants, shops and beach bars around it.
You can also try snorkelling or fishing from the rocks in this cove. Obviously, you can only do so when the sea allows for it, in compliance with lifeguards’ instructions. With regard to fishing, you need to apply for a fishing licence from the Valencian Government’s Department for Agriculture in advance of your visit.
Any season of the year has its charms when it comes to visiting Finestrat. Spring is very lively; summer is perfect for beach tourism; autumn is great for hiking and sunsets; and winter can even bring snow to the surrounding area.
