Benidorm Cross Viewpoint

One of the least known but most unforgettable spots. Situated at an altitude of 200m, at the southern end of the Serra Gelada natural park and at the eastern end of the city, this viewpoint is one of the best places from which to discover this unique city and well-known city in Alicante.

Its westerly orientation provides an unforgettable view of the Mediterranean sunsets with its particular skyline of Benidorm and the silhouette of Puig Campana in the background. Choosing a time of day to visit it is complicated as it is frequented by sportsmen and local visitors throughout the year, with high season being the busiest time for tourists.

The Hermitage of the Virgin of the Sea

The hill on which this hermitage stands is called Tossal de la Cala. It has an important archaeological value as it is a place where archaeological remains from the Bronze Age and the Iberians have been found.

To get to the hermitage, which hides a wonderful Mediterranean balcony, you reach it through the west beach. Access to this place can be made by car or on foot, in the latter case, it should be noted that the walk will be steep so we recommend that it is done at less inopportune hours, especially in high season.

The Mediterranean Balcony

Its location, separating the Poniente and Levante beaches, offers a highly recommendable panoramic view of the coastline. Hence its great popularity over the years, being one of the most photographic pictures taken by all visitors. It was from the 20th century onwards when it began to become a tourist attraction due to its sea views.

To get to the Balcón del Mediterráneo, you first have to walk up through the old town of Benidorm. A walk that we highly recommend and is one of the must-see sights of the city. At the end of the Plaza de Castelar, just in front of the church of Santa Ana, is the Balcón del Mediterráneo, from where you can enjoy a fantastic view and glimpse, breaking the marine mantle, the enigmatic island of Benidorm.
