There are many reasons we love this city on the shores of the Mediterranean but if we had to choose one, it would be because of Benidorm’s beaches. They are famous for being the best beaches in Alicante. In this post we’ll tell you our favourites and why. Don’t miss out!
Levante Beach
Levante Beach is one of the most popular Alicante beaches. It is also one of the liveliest in the Mediterranean, being the most visited by Spanish and foreign tourists. Next to it you will find the city’s best range of leisure options no matter the time of day. By day, you can enjoy numerous cafés and restaurants, some of which have terraces open all year. They’re the perfect place to enjoy the sun!
At Levante Beach you can also walk along the fine sand for the 2.2 kilometres the beach stretches, take a dip in its warm waters, or enjoy some outdoor sports facilities. Furthermore, at the ends of the promenade you can see handcrafted sand figures. If you are visiting at night, you will be in the heart of Benidorm’s best nightlife options. Whoever you are visiting with and whatever time of year you’ve chosen for your holiday, Levante Beach is a must-visit spot.
Tío Ximo Cove
If you need to get away from the hustle and bustle during your holiday in Benidorm, Tio Ximo Cove will give you the peace and quiet you seek. At 60 metres long, this small beach is situated between cliffs at the foot of the Serra Gelada and on the north coast of the area. It has rocky parts as well as fine sand. Along with its clean, clear waters, this cove is one of the most magical beaches in Benidorm.
If you want to relax, you can hire sunbeds and sunshades. If, on the other hand, you are looking for something more active and you enjoy water sports, you’re in luck! Tio Ximo Cove is one of the best beaches in Alicante for snorkelling and diving given its beautiful marine depths.
Mal Pas Cove
Whether you are travelling on a family holiday or a romantic getaway in Benidorm, you have to visit this small paradise. Mal Pas Cove divides Levante Beach and Poniente Beach, the largest Benidorm beaches. It is a small, unspoiled cove measuring 120 metres in length. It has fine sand, clear waters and gentle waves. Its location in the city’s historic quarter makes it easily accessible. Furthermore, it is nestled in one of Benidorm’s most charming areas.
To the north of this beach you will find Mediterráneo Viewpoint, at Canfali Point. From there you can enjoy a spectacular view of the historic centre and Benidorm Island, which you can visit on boat rides that leave from the city.
Poniente Beach
Situated next to Levante Beach, Poniente Beach is another of the most popular beaches in Benidorm. It is the largest in the area, stretching for 3.3 kilometres, making it perfect for a walk along the shore. With fine sand and clean waters, it has multiple leisure services and facilities. These include a beach library, sports facilities and playgrounds for kids. As it is quieter than Levante Beach it is the ideal spot for a family day out.
Now you know about them all, which one will you enjoy first? What are you waiting for? See you soon in Benidorm!
