And now what? Don’t worry, in this post we’re going to show you the best plans to spend an afternoon with children discovering those places that are sure to become a memory for the whole family.
If what you want is to enjoy your accommodation, here is this post with 7 unique experiences that can only be enjoyed in a camping resort.
Not everyone knows that the island of Benidorm is an extension of the Serra Gelada natural park. Classified as a protected area, this island becomes year after year an ideal place for seabirds. Every day you can go to the island by boat and take a short trip around it. The companies that provide this service leave from the port of Benidorm. We recommend the boat that has an underwater view during the trip. Children and not so children will love to see the immense marine diversity that exists. (+ info )
Once in the area, remember that we are in an environmentally protected area. Walking around the island, up to the top, wandering along its paths, taking a dip in the summer and enjoying a snack in the local bar sounds great, doesn’t it? A perfect plan for an afternoon with the family.
The city has some of the most interesting amusement parks on the Mediterranean coast. From appreciating the marine flora and fauna, immersing yourself in ancient civilisations or plunging down water slides, Benidorm offers the ideal place for the whole family to enjoy. Our recommendation: arrive before lunch, enjoy the culinary variety offered by all the parks and have the whole afternoon to immerse yourself in the different leisure attractions in Benidorm.
Mundomar is an animal park located in Benidorm at the foot of the Serra Gelada and designed for the whole family. The park has different species of mammals, birds and reptiles with which you can enjoy a great visit, complement it with different shows and live special experiences such as swimming with sea lions or having an encounter with dolphins.
Aqualandia is Europe’s largest water park. Located in a beautiful natural setting, it has great water attractions for all ages and tastes, gardens with typical vegetation of the area and a whole series of attractive and exciting experiences designed for the whole family. The park also has children’s areas where the “kings of the house” will find all the ingredients for an unforgettable day out.
Terra Natura & Aqua Natura is the other animal park in Benidorm. Here you can come across all kinds of wild animals in an environment divided into different areas that follow a guided path and represent different spaces inspired by the biodiversity of the fauna. In Aqua Natura you can enjoy various aquatic experiences designed to amuse the youngest members of the family.
Terra Mítica is the amusement park inspired by ancient civilisations and represented in the different areas that make up the park. From Ancient Greece to Pharaonic Egypt, the park is able to immerse you in different experiences that will make for an unforgettable afternoon. By the way, don’t forget to bring your swimming costume! There are also water attractions.
With white lace and Mediterranean architecture, charming restaurants and charming viewpoints, the old town of Benidorm is a must-see, discovering those inert corners that recall a maritime tradition and that give us a glimpse of the Benidorm of yesteryear.
The old town is located in the centre of Benidorm, bounded by the Parque de Elche and the Plaza Triangular. Most of the streets in the old town are pedestrianised, made of cobblestones. Its lively streets in summer are lined with shops, big brand clothes shops and retailers, pizzerias, waffle shops, restaurants and the famous Basque area; a gastronomic corner of northern Spain in the Mediterranean.
Walking between the church of San Jaime and Santa Ana, reaching the lighthouse located in the port (from where the boats leave for the island as mentioned above) and ending up on the famous balcony of the Mediterranean. Contemplating the sunset amidst the sound of the waves, contemplating the coast, admiring the buildings on either side of the viewpoint while you enjoy an ice cream and ending the walk with a photo is a must-do leisure proposal to remember in Benidorm.
The Tossal de la Cala is a hill located in the southwest end of the city of Benidorm, between the Poniente beach and the Finestrat beach. On the hill you will find an archaeological site belonging to a Roman settlement. On the way along the street of the hermitage you can find the Virgen del Mar hermitage, small but very beautiful. Although it is possible to get there by car, we recommend going up on foot. Once at the top admire the spectacular views of the coast that together with the sea draw a postcard that is very worthwhile.
Immerse yourself in an Escape Room adventure. An escape room game is a great option for the whole family. It consists of getting out of a closed room or enclosure by means of tests of wit, skill, puzzles or puzzles that give access to other clues until you reach the final solution to get out. There are different themes and proposals in Benidorm so the only thing you have to worry about is booking to ensure availability.
Another option is to go to the bowling alley. It is located in one of the main streets of Benidorm and apart from being a bowling alley it is an arcade where the youngest members of the family, and the older ones too, can have fun and demonstrate their skills in the different games.
