Boat trip in Benidorm this summer
In the following lines, we share with you our favourite boat routes for the whole family to enjoy this summer:
Benidorm Island
The sea route that connects with the nearest island is already a tradition. The departure is from the port of Benidorm or from the boarding platform of the Rincón de Loix, although the latter is only contemplated during the summer. This small island is very popular with boats, as it is very easy to arouse the curiosity of visitors to the city. A setting capable of leaving magnificent postcards of the Bay of Benidorm and its skyline engraved in your memory.
The city’s excursion boats reach the island in less than half an hour. Almost daily excursions are common throughout the year, but are more frequent during the summer and have longer schedules.
It has an area of approximately 400 square metres, making it an easy and accessible walk for the whole family. It is included as part of the Serra Gelada Natural Park and is a fully protected natural environment with paths and trails. It is an area that serves as a refuge for the birds of the area, such as seagulls. For these reasons, the island is uninhabited with the exception of a small restaurant-bar service.
These excursions are usually accompanied by small underwater tours around the island. These are boats with underwater vision equipped to enjoy the incredible seabed. Small boats with large windows underneath that reveal all the life hidden under the waters of Benidorm. Being such a special area, many snorkelling lovers come here every summer.
Tabarca Island
The crossing to the island of Tabarca from Benidorm is a journey of an hour aproximately. A visit to this island is a must on your visit to the coast of Alicante. In its almost two kilometres of length you can find all the virtues of the Costa Blanca, such as gastronomy or disconnection in a unique place with a privileged climate.
Boat trips departing from Benidorm reach the island directly, although it is not uncommon to find boats that take advantage of the departure to visit Alicante and its port. In fact, during the trip you can see the beaches of towns such as Villajoyosa, Campello and San Juan.
As with the island of Benidorm, it is a very special place for water sports lovers, thanks to its flora and fauna. The protagonists of this marine reserve are the posidonia oceanica and the frequent dolphins that surround the island – watching them swim fills you with peace!
Serra Gelada
From the port of Benidorm, small boats set out on this trip. Apart from the guided tours in large boats, the rental of smaller boats or sailing boats with or without skipper is an increasingly popular option. Freedom, privacy and comfort are some of the factors that tip the balance in their favour.
If this is your favourite option, don’t hesitate, discovering the Serra Gelada from the sea will be a unique experience. We are used to its views where the colour green is always present, so this is a different way to enjoy this natural park. You leave behind the mountain full of pine trees to find large golden cliffs.
Other alternatives
Of course, from the port of Benidorm, there are also sea excursions along the coastline of Calpe and Altea. In addition, you have at your disposal other types of boats that we have not mentioned before.
Although less common depending on the season, there are boats like the jet boat or the catamaran that are capable of touring the coast in a different and unique way depending on the experience you are looking for. The jet boat is perfect for thrill-seekers!
